[Info] Student Perspectives: Keila

(1) What is your name, year, and major?

Keila Mayberry, incoming fourth year Political Science, Business-Economics, and Global Studies major.

(2) Why did you chose the International Business Law and Taxation Travel Study program?

From a logistical standpoint, it fit the requirements for two management electives in a pretty short period of time, and Professor Freixes had good reviews on Bruinwalk. I'm interested in international law, generally, and I've never taken a tax class so the content seemed interesting. Also, I loved that the course would be in Paris and Strasbourg.

(3) What is your favorite and least favorite part of the program?

My favorite part was exploring the cities, finishing the midterms and finals, and Michael and Brandon lol. [My awesome TA and his hilarious husband.] And my least favorite part was that it was over super quickly. I also didn't love the tax textbook. But Gonzalo's lectures on tax made up for the dryness of it.

(4) What advice do you have for students who are thinking of enrolling in the program?

Just do it! Start the midterms and finals early and make sure to do the readings. They're important for class participation.

(5) What have you gained from studying abroad, outside of knowledge of international tax and law?

New friendships. And I picked up a bit of French, which was cool.
